This year, Italian luxury jeweller Damiani is celebrating their 90th anniversary. To mark the festive occasion, the brand also unveiled its anniversary collection, called “Damiani, Celebrating 90 Years of Excellence and Passion”. As an homage to this collection really, Chef Pino Lavarra (awarded with two Michelin Stars already) of the Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, has created a very extravagant and special anniversary five-course dinner menu inspired by the beautiful pieces of jewelry just released.
The nine numbered pieces are Charleston collier, Cascade bracelet, Legend bracelet, Optical earrings, Bloom necklace, Tribute bracelet, Moonshine ring, Damianissima collier, and Tassel necklace, each illustrating Damiani’s style throughout the decades. As for the menu, it starts full speed with a 1930s-inspired appetizer, and then dazzles with an intriguing combination of Cured Salmon, Beluga caviar, and White Snail Caviar. But the highlight ois the Stewed Oxtail Served on Potato Filled with Foie Gras, while the final exquisite touch is represented by a Chocolate Ring of Hazelnuts with Five Spices Sauce.
“The culinary preparations are quite complicated for this special menu,” said Chef Pino Lavarra. “On top of a good balance of taste and flavor pairings, everything served has to be a picture-perfect arrangement to be a fitting tribute to the craftsmanship of Damiani’s goldsmiths over the years. All dishes are tastefully prepared, their shapes and colors complementing one another. For me, this experience is also like crafting culinary jewelry for the pleasure of the eyes. I want to use this opportunity to offer the greatest expression of Italian quality in terms of the finest things in life”.
Yes, the Damiani 90th Anniversary Celebration menu is priced at HK$1,880 (US$240) per person and will be available from October 15 to November 30 (except November 6-8) at Tosca at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong.
