An army of white globes bursting out of buildings and structures? Yes. This is “Invasions de Ballons”, the latest series by French photographer and artist Charles Pétillon.
The artist considers each photo in his series a metaphor for either a period of time, an emotional sensation, or universal urban evolution. They aim to change our perception of the ordinary sceneries we encounter everyday.
Maison de la Photographie, where his photo series will be exhibited from February 20 to March 22, describes Pétillon’s work as a “dialogue between the photographer and space” and “fragments of a reality without limits.” In the video, below, see how he constructs and photographs these monumental, surreal moments.
