Karl Lagerfeld has just unveiled a bit more about his forthcoming Chanel film – starring Pharrell Williams and Cara Delevingne. The film is due to premiere on http://chanel.com and in Salzburg on December 1st, the night before the Paris-Salzburg 2014/15 Métiers d’art show. And will feature a new song written by Pharrell, which the pair sing as a duet, called “CC the World”.

Does it come as a surprise? Nope. Not at all. After all, Karl Lagerfeld was not named Kaiser for no reason..

The film is titled “Reincarnation” and retraces the history of the iconic Chanel jacket. While holidaying in Austria, Gabrielle Chanel (played by Geraldine Chaplin) is inspired by the jacket worn by her hotel’s elevator operator (Pharrell Williams). In an extended dream sequence, Pharrell is reincarnated as Franz Joseph I, the Emperor of Austria, while Delevingne plays his wife, Empress Elisabeth “Sissi” of Austria. Cue an imperial waltz, with a Pharrell-soundtracked twist.

Lagerfeld said that he had sent the “Happy” musician “all kinds of Viennese music” to inspire the new track. “He was easy to work with, very pleasant. He’s very professional,” Kaiser Karl Lagerfeld admitted to WWD. “And Cara had wanted to sing for a long time. For her to start singing with Pharrell is not that bad, no?”.

“I was so happy, I think I screamed down the phone at him,” stated Cara, on the phone call she received from Pharrell on this.

As for the rest of the cast, members do include Lady Amanda Harlech, who appeared in Lagerfeld’s last pre-collection film Private View, models Baptiste Giabiconi and Heidi Mount and six-year-old Hudson Kroenig, who will return to the Chanel catwalk at the Métiers d’art show.
