Director of Makeup Artistry Gregory Arlt tells us how Marilyn’s iconic face transcends decades, the modern-day Marilyns he works with and his favourites from the collection.

She was a total trendsetter! Back then, actresses had more pronounced, harder looks: Think Joan Crawford, Bette Davis, and Marlene Dietrich. But there was a softness to Marilyn’s makeup that you really didn’t see in the 40’s and early 50’s“, commented Director of Makeup Artistry, Gregory Arlt on Marilyn Monroe’s influence on the way woman wear make up.

Marilyn, most certainly, hasn’t gone anywhere. And now, with a little help from MAC, you too can channel the legend.
